Or, du point de vue professionnel, le stress provient plut\u00f4t d\u2019un d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre entre les exigences pos\u00e9es \u00e0 un individu et ses ressources. A long terme, ce d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre peut affecter le bien-\u00eatre physique et psychique.<\/p>\n<p>Le stress n\u2019est pas, comme on l\u2019entend souvent, un d\u00e9fi ponctuel tel qu\u2019un d\u00e9lai qui s\u2019approche ou une semaine surcharg\u00e9e. Le terme d\u00e9finit plut\u00f4t un d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre durable entre les facteurs d\u00e9clencheurs de stress et les moyens et possibilit\u00e9s (ressources) dont l\u2019individu dispose pour faire face \u00e0 ces exigences. Le stress d\u00e9coule d\u2019un ressenti subjectif individuel de ne plus \u00eatre en mesure de pouvoir mener \u00e0 bien ses t\u00e2ches et de ce fait il est per\u00e7u comme \u00e9tant d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able. Quand les facteurs de stress se multiplient, beaucoup de personnes r\u00e9agissent \u00e0 court terme avec frustration et un repli sur soi, et \u00e0 long terme avec une baisse de performance. Quand les facteurs de stress ne peuvent plus \u00eatre contrebalanc\u00e9s avec des ressources disponibles, ils affectent notre bien-\u00eatre et entra\u00eenent des maladies et troubles psychosomatiques.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qu\u2019est-ce qui se passe dans le corps ?<\/strong><br \/>\nDepuis l\u2019\u00e2ge de pierre, notre corps r\u00e9agit de mani\u00e8re inchang\u00e9e aux situations de stress. Par r\u00e9flexe, il nous met en \u00e9tat d\u2019alerte pour nous permettre une r\u00e9action \u00ab de combat ou de fuite \u00bb (\u00ab fight or flight \u00bb). Pour lib\u00e9rer toutes nos forces, le corps augmente sa production des hormones de stress : adr\u00e9naline, noradr\u00e9naline et cortisol. Parall\u00e8lement, il ralentit certaines fonctions dont nous n\u2019avons pas imm\u00e9diatement besoin, ce qui restreint entre autres notre perception. D\u00e8s que la situation de stress a \u00e9t\u00e9 surmont\u00e9e, la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion d\u2019adr\u00e9naline et de noradr\u00e9naline diminue et nous retrouvons notre \u00e9tat de repos. Ce rel\u00e2chement est vital afin de permettre \u00e0 notre corps de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Les situations de stress passag\u00e8res, qui peuvent \u00eatre provoqu\u00e9es par un grand examen, un entretien d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able ou un \u00e9v\u00e8nement bouleversant, poussent le corps temporairement \u00e0 sa limite, mais renforcent \u00e0 long terme notre r\u00e9sistance psychique et physique qui r\u00e9sulte de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience acquise. On parle alors de stress positif. Or, dans la vie professionnelle d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, nous sommes souvent confront\u00e9-e-s \u00e0 des situations de stress n\u00e9gatif car durables. Le corps n\u2019a pas le temps de retrouver son \u00e9tat de repos, et \u00e0 long terme notre \u00e9nergie s\u2019y perd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les causes du stress<\/strong><br \/>\nBeaucoup de personnes se sentent surcharg\u00e9es et d\u00e9bord\u00e9es au travail. (Job-Stress-Index) Mais la situation au travail n\u2019est pas l\u2019unique facteur de stress. La vie priv\u00e9e peut aussi nous accabler consid\u00e9rablement. Ce sont souvent les coups du destin tels que le ch\u00f4mage, une s\u00e9paration ou la perte d\u2019un \u00eatre cher qui nous affectent le plus. Mais aussi les personnes soignant des proches peuvent \u00eatre expos\u00e9es \u00e0 de fortes sollicitations. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, le fait de devoir exprimer des \u00e9motions vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur qui sont \u00e0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9 de ce que nous ressentons en notre for int\u00e9rieur peut causer du stress \u2013 ce dilemme porte le nom de dissonance \u00e9motionnelle. Parmi les personnes vuln\u00e9rables se trouvent aussi celles qui ont le sentiment d\u2019\u00eatre abandonn\u00e9es, qui manquent d\u2019une personne de confiance qui leur apporte son soutien affectueux.<\/p>\n<p>La situation est particuli\u00e8rement grave quand les deux \u2013 le stress professionnel et priv\u00e9e \u2013 se cumulent et interagissent. L\u2019interaction entre le comportement et les facteurs personnels d\u2019une part, et le cadre de la situation d\u2019autre part joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans l\u2019apparition du stress. Le stress d\u00e9coule du ressenti subjectif de ne plus pouvoir diriger positivement ses actions ni de pouvoir r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes. L\u2019ampleur de l\u2019\u00e9puisement que nous ressentons varie donc beaucoup d\u2019une personne \u00e0 l\u2019autre et d\u00e9pend dans une large mesure de notre perception personnelle des exigences \u00e0 remplir, et des ressources dont nous disposons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Du stress au burnout <\/strong><br \/>\nLe stress et l\u2019\u00e9puisement permanents peuvent conduire une personne au burnout, un \u00e9tat d\u2019\u00e9puisement \u00e9motionnel et physique qui peut la contraindre \u00e0 quitter temporairement la vie professionnelle. Les personnes concern\u00e9es se distancient \u00e9motionnellement de leur travail et souffrent d\u2019un sentiment d\u2019\u00e9puisement \u00e9motionnel. C\u2019est un des signes importants qui indique qu\u2019une personne risque le burnout.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Conseils et astuces contre le stress<\/strong><br \/>\nLa plateforme d\u2019information www.stressnostress.ch\/fr informe sur les signaux et les causes du stress et donne des instructions sur la ma\u00eetrise et la pr\u00e9vention du stress pour les individus et les organisations.
